Build web sites with CSS style

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheet. In the simplest of sense, it is a file that is used to set the style of a single web page or even the entire site. For web developers CSS is much appreciated for simple updating and changing page styles. It also reduces page load times since the browser can employ styles before it is fully rendered. Most of the browsers have the ability to read and translate the style visible.

Actually CSS was introduced to solve a problem of HTML. HTML is basically used to structure the web content. But there are limitations of that language because it was not good enough for formatting. CSS is used for formatting structured content. It covers fonts, colours, margins, lines, height, width, background images, advanced positions and many other things.

Let’s take some brief ideas on CSS. There are three types of CSS- Inline, embedded and linked or external. Inline styles take precedence, then embedded styles rules follow and the Linked external style sheet instructions will be used if in line or Embedded instructions are not present.

Linked External Style Sheets can control an entire site from one file. The file can be in an ordinary text form. The difference is it has to be saved with the tail extension of dot css that contains a series of instructions. When a page links to this file, the browser references the CSS instructions to render the page.

CSS doesn’t need to be a concern if you are using a freewebsite maker, like some of the ones you can find here: http://www.freewebsitemaker.co.uk/category/reviewed-website-builders
